Resumen:
Se busca conocer cuáles son las condiciones que en un contexto de cambio constitucional aumentan la representación política de demandas realizadas en protestas. El estudio se desarrolla con métodos mixtos. La etapa cuantitativa se desarrolla con una base de datos original llamada protestas y representación política utilizando la técnica de la regresión logística. Argumento que, en un contexto de crisis institucional, los políticos independientes tienen una mayor probabilidad de representar las demandas expresadas en protestas porque no se encuentran limitados por las estructuras de interés partidistas como los políticos de partidos. Entre los políticos de partidos, la representación de las demandas expresadas en protestas dependerá de la ideología y de los vínculos entre las élites y las bases de los partidos. Las demandas de una mayor regulación estatal tendrán una mayor probabilidad de ser representadas por políticos de partidos de izquierda, porque habría una mayor afinidad entre el contenido de las demandas y los programas de los partidos. Sin embargo, entre los partidos de izquierda, aquellos que posean un nivel de vinculación más fuerte entre las elites del partido y sus bases tendrán más incentivos para representar las demandas expresadas en las protestas
